Since you are FTPing to IIS, are you sure that you are using the .NET 2.0 AppPool ? There was no error when all ASPX and ASHX files ran in IIS Express locally, but once deployed to the server they stopped working (all of them).
One sanity check: look at the file size of your main project DLL (Core.dll, in my case) in dev and production. so to resolve this go to original location and crosscheck the folders and files again. If you create a folder for you images, and another folder for your security "*.aspx" pages, those folders remain intact because your output type of the WebProject is that of content. Please review the following specific error details and modify your source code appropriately.
Unless it comes with the sln file (which i believe all it does is tell asp.net which files are from the same project). My solution was to add Any CPU back and tell it not to copy settings from x86.
